Windows 7: Unsupported Graphics Card Error

If you're on Windows 7 and receive the following error message when using the Epic Games Launcher, use the steps below to fix this:

  1. Exit the Epic Games Launcher completely.
  2. Right-click the Epic Games Launcher shortcut.
  3. Click Properties.
  4. At the end of the target line, add -opengl. Example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win32\EpicGamesLauncher.exe" -opengl
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Try to launch the launcher and see if you're able to run it without any issues.

Note: If this doesn't resolve your issue be sure that your system meets the system requirements to run the Epic Games Launcher.

If the above steps fail, you can try to repair the Epic Games Launcher using the following steps:

  1. Click on Start.
  2. Click on Control Panel.
  3. Click on Programs and Features.
  4. Locate the Epic Games Launcher and click on it.
  5. Click on Repair.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  7. Try launching the Epic Games Launcher once the repair is completed.
