What is the Unreal Engine Marketplace?
The Marketplace is a vibrant community full of content creators and developers looking to share ideas and assets in order to support each other’s work and grow the community.

 

Can I use Marketplace Assets I’ve purchased in my commercial product?

Yes you can!  Purchased Marketplace assets can be used, reproduced, displayed, modified and distributed in your product with proper credit given to the asset creator.

 

I found an issue with a pack I’ve purchased what should I do?

Please contact the seller with your issue at their listed support email address. The comments section of an asset’s storefront page is also a good place to look for help troubleshooting issues with the asset.

 

The asset I purchased does not download.  What should I do?

If you are having trouble downloading an asset into your Epic Games Launcher, please contact the Marketplace Team at marketplace-support@unrealengine.com.  Please include the email address associated with your account and the Order ID of the purchase as well as any screenshots showing that the download link is not available.   

 

How can I request a refund?

After reaching out to the seller at their listed support email address for troubleshooting, you may contact the Marketplace Team by completing the Refund Request Form.

 

Please provide the following information:

  • The email address associated with the purchase

  • The Order ID from the emailed receipt

  • The reason for requesting a refund

  • In the case of a technical issue or bug, please provide detailed descriptions of the issue including screenshots, videos, and/or system logs or steps taken in order to replicate the experiences. Please also include any suggestions or support provided by the seller.

 

Can I modify assets I purchase from the Marketplace?

Yes, you are free to modify any content you purchase from the Marketplace.

 

Can I use these assets in other gaming engines, like Source or Unity?

Only assets that have not been created by Epic Games can be used in other engines.  Be sure to provide appropriate credit and pay any royalties that may accrue.  

 

Can I share asset packs with my team?

Yes, you can share Marketplace content with your team but only for the limited purpose of the project that you are jointly developing.  Content pooling or sharing assets between developers outside of your organization is prohibited.  Team members also cannot use assets in an unlimited fashion for their own projects.

 

Can I share plugins with my team?

Yes, you can share Marketplace content with your team but only for the limited purpose of the project that you are jointly developing.  Content pooling or sharing plugins between developers outside of your organization is prohibited.  Team members also cannot use plugins in an unlimited fashion for their own projects.

 

What forms of payment are accepted for Marketplace transactions?
We accept Paypal as well as credit and debit cards bearing the VISA, MasterCard, JCB, Discover, American Express and Diners brands. Debit cards are only accepted when they do not require PIN entry.

 

Are there any sales taxes applied to my purchases?

Sales tax is added to any purchases made in states where Epic Games has a residency which is North Carolina, Washington, Utah, and Wisconsin.  For some international sales the price is increased by <20%?> to account for Value Added Tax (VAT).

 

I was double charged for an item! What should I do?

Please contact the Marketplace Team at marketplace-support@unrealengine.com to investigate double charges.

Please provide the following information:

  • The email address associated with the purchase

  • The multiple Order IDs from the emailed receipts

 

How can I be sure that the item I bought will work with my setup?

All assets on the Marketplace advertise which platforms are supported (Windows, Mac, etc.) and the compatible versions of the engine.  Please contact the seller if you have any questions regarding compatibility with your unique setup or project.  As a reminder, Refunds are NOT issued for claims of buyer’s remorse or items purchased in error.

 

Can I use items that I purchase on the Marketplace in my game?

Yes.  Besides using Marketplace content for learning, experimenting, and prototyping, you can also ship it in your own products as long as proper credit is given to the asset creator.

 

Can I include Epic Games content from the Marketplace and Learn Tab in my game?

Yes.  Content from the Learn Tab and Epic Games content on the Marketplace can be used in an Unreal Engine based game with proper credit given to Epic Games.  

 

Can I submit assets I’ve purchased from the Marketplace if I’ve changed them?

No.  Assets purchased through the Marketplace cannot be resold, distributed, or sublicensed on the Marketplace or other similar websites even if the asset has been modified.
